Family Daycare Feeding
Program
Established by Congress in 1968, the Family Daycare Feeding Program ensures that children, between the ages of birth to thirteen, eat a nutritious, well-balanced diet, while in the care of an in-home Childcare Provider.

This program serves both McDowell and Wyoming Counties and provides the following:
Reimbursement to Certified Providers
The Family Daycare Food Program provides reimbursement to Certified Family Daycare providers for the meals they serve to children in their care.
The program serves all regardless of income.
Training for Preparing Meals
The Family Daycare Food Program provides training for the providers on how to prepare meals that meet the USDA guidelines.
Are You Eligible?
Any Family Daycare Provider who is taking care of at least one child in his/ her home regularly is eligible to be registered or certified to participate in the Council of Southern Mountains Child Care Food Program.
Requirements
You must be registered as a family daycare provider by your local resource and referral agency (R&R) and enrolled in the Council of Southern Mountains Child Care Food Program.
Contact your local R&R office or the DHHR office in your area for information on becoming registered.
The DHHR registration certificate is required before paperwork can be processed to enroll in the food program.
